As with anyone who uses Windows OS, knows — problems sneak in through web connections. I have been fighting “virii/trojans” and assort malware — yesterday and today — first time this year; and probably not the last.
The good news?
My laptop is still operating.
The bad news?
I am still not sure my computer is “clean” of the malware/infected files.
When I last checked the boot scan on the computer upstairs, is was closing in on 50% scanning of the C:/, then it will have to scan the external HD, and the thumbdrive, which may be infected as well.

Such a FUN way to begin the new year, right?

NOT likely!

At least the Linux machine is alive, kicking and immune to virii…that is how I am able to post while the laptop is being scanned.

And how has your Friday been?

I will post something of a more positive nature, whenever I know something more about my laptop.

For now, I will be checking messages, tweets, and posts (FB).

LAST Friday of 2011

What have I done on the last Friday of 2011?
Spent much of the day resting; hoping to recover from a head cold that has dampened things for me this week. Have not been able to get much done.
Dave has spent the past few days working on clocks, computer projects,, as well as cutting trees for firewood.

I helped him stacked over a chord/cord of logs earlier this week; today he was able to bring 5 split, large rounds of an oak tree from the other side of the creek, just before dark. I watched him bring in the trailer while I was feeding the cats their evening meal.

Me? I warmed lunch, took cold meds; rest much of the afternoon, helped Dave with errands, and then warmed dinner.

After a visit from a close friend, Dave and I found we needed some things from the store. Thus we made our way to Jacksonville’s Walmart, and did a short lap around the grocery section.
We picked a few items, then came back home. No side trips this evening.

After dinner, I came back upstairs and checked messages on my computer; then watched a British comedy on Hulu.com — “SPY” is pretty good, if a bit odd for American viewers.

Must get down to ‘prep’ the dishes for breakfast — may be back before calling it a night — just will have to see. For now, the dirty dishes await.

PS: I was able to get 3 braided wristbands done this evening — as far as weaving goes, I did get ‘something’ done. Just wish I felt better. A bit of wine, crawl under thick covers, and rest as much as possible — I trust things will be better overall, tomorrow. New Year’s come however feel…would like for it to be good evening. — CAA

Late night, sore spots and little rest

Think I have gotten comfortable enough to rest…then shift slightly, and “ouch” — why?
Twas helping load cedar logs, stumps and tidbit onto the flatbed trailer Sunday.
No problem for the most part.
Just one mishap — that’s what has my ‘sore spots’ keeping me from resting.
The culprit? A really prickly cedar stump; gnarled and with many roots. It could have been much worse (nothing was broken) — it just the by now the bruises are very sore, and I could not find the heating pad before bedtime.
Ice packs have helped; but heat would have been more of a relief. Also there are skeeters making me very itchy, too.
I now realize my stomach is growling a bit. Think I’ll go downstairs, munch on some chips and try to get back to sleep.

Miriam Edna Justice Parrott

My great-aunt, Miriam E. Justice Parrott, died yesterday.

I, along with family members are awaiting for word about funeral arrangements.

She was the youngest sister of my maternal grandfather — Herbert Russell Justice.

Aunt Miriam had been the sole surviving child of Isaac Clay Justice and Lilly Dee Lawley Fulmer (Justice).

She lived much of her adult life in Homewood, and her funeral service will be held in Homewood.

She was born in 1915, and her son’s name is Truman.
